Description

la pastoraThe Tarrazu Region of Costa Rica, is an ideal location for the cultivation of coffee. The water and soil, rich and deep with a thick humus layer of volcanic origin, along with the climate, are irreplaceable factors that make the coffee grown in this area truly gourmet quality. These beans are grown at high altitudes, above 3,900 ft, allowing them to be designated Single Hard Bean – the highest classification in the Costa Rican system. The combination of ideal climatic conditions with outstanding rich, volcanic soils produces a hard, dense bean, rich in essential oils that produce an intensely aromatic cup of coffee overflowing with rich flavor.

I have done the Vail to Denver commute for more than a decade. Countless times a stop would be made for coffee, tea, snack or just to relax and wait for a winter storm to pass. I began those stops at big franchise options along the I-70 corridor years ago. Then one day 4 years ago I was standing in a very long line at a not to be named coffee shop when I said to myself, “Why am I not giving my hard earned money to the local community and to help boost their success?” So, after a couple attempts at off the beaten path coffee shops I found, The Frothy Cup, right on Mainstreet in Idaho Springs, Co. For 2 years I stepped into their cute inviting shop and savored some of the most delectable lite plates and oh so savory teas and coffees. I now split my time between California and Colorado. I miss the frequent visits to their shop for my favorite coffee roast, “Costa Rica Tarrazu”. After meeting the owners and hearing their wonderful story of past careers and life journeys, I felt even more compelled to continue buying their coffee. I now have them ship coffee directly from their store when I am in California. Yes there are many options of coffee out there in this competitive world we live in. However, not with a sincere, true American story to make success out of simply being welcoming, kind and thoughtful. I am positive there are many like me out there that just want to feel like they are home when sipping their coffee! When in Colorado heading home to the mountains, I make sure to stop in and say hello over a nice cup of coffee. Rain, blizzards, ski or summer traffic, I always leave with a smile on my face and a cute to go bag. Thank you for such a great experience every time.
